founded in 1994 is an university comprising 5 colleges and 23 departments. Currently CYUT has about 18,000 students.
CYUT held up a festival of “Week of Industrial Design” in Nov. 14-17, 2023. Demonstrated outstanding industrial works. To make students realize demand for industries during college, CYUT reaches industry-academia collaboration project every year. Winboss Industrial Co. Ltd. was specially invited this year for cooperation of the project named “Creative Design and Application for NBR Product”.
The project held by Department of Industrial Design in CYUT was conducted by 4 lecturers, led students to have their design inspiration on field of water activities, household life and children’s products. Currently more than 50 pieces of works have been designed, which were come out through students’ own experiences and hobbies, and expected to be sampled in end of the semester.
Softness and high reboundability are main physical property of NBR. Per professionals from Winboss, this kind of material can be used in numerous industries based on its physical property such as life jacket, motorcyclist body protector, fire-resistant foam pads etc. Besides giving back to the town, Winboss hopes to seek further inspiration on NBR-foam based products and components through the cooperation with CYUT this time. It’s quite valuable not only to find out creative design but also to encourage these talented students to figure out more creativity. If possible, joining in Winboss team with their professional design would be deeply appreciated as well.
As what director of department of industrial design stated, CYUT often gets in touch with manufacturer in traditional industry to find further development on existing products. The key point how we train our students is not only to have unique design but also practical function, so the industry-academia collaboration project is popular for every industries.
